靈感源於廖修平1961年分發至金門、青年時期於大膽島與小金門服役的記憶。彼時常獨自面對遼闊無垠的海面，視野與心境交織成深刻印象。作品以四聯屏並置展開，近景岩岸運用刮刀刮劃，呈現粗獷而富肌理的質感；海面則以平塗的多彩色塊構成，紅、橘、黃、綠、藍與金等色相在明度與彩度之間交替變化，形成跳動且綿延的節奏。整體畫面在光線映照下，展現出波光瀲灩、閃爍流動的視覺效果。
The work draws inspiration from Liao Shiou-Ping’s memories of being stationed in Kinmen in 1961, during his youth serving on Dadan Island and Little Kinmen. At the time, he often found himself alone, facing the vast, boundless sea—an experience that left a lasting impression on both his vision and inner landscape.
Composed as a four-panel work, the piece unfolds through juxtaposition. In the foreground, the rocky shore is rendered with a palette knife, creating a coarse and richly textured surface. In contrast, the sea is depicted through flat applications of vibrant color fields. Hues of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and gold alternate in tone and saturation, generating a sense of rhythmic movement and visual continuity. Under the illumination of light, the surface of the sea shimmers, evoking a scene of dazzling, rippling reflections.
