Great article from the Abilene Reflector Chronicle. We want to thank Lumen Touch, a K-12 educational software company out of Kansas City that brought a group of helpers to decorate the Mansion. Thanks to all the volunteers that helped bring Christmas magic back to the Seelye Mansion.

There is no bah-humbugging about the Seelye Mansion.

Seelye Connection From Colorado Springs, CO

This incredible Dutch-styled building once housed the reputable Van Briggle Pottery Company. Located at the base of Pike's Peak in Colorado Springs, Dutch husband and wife Artus and Anne Van Briggle created their art nouveau designs into pottery. The Colorado sky inspired their works and the Colorado clay content was perfect for pottery.

In 1904, the Van Briggles loaded up their best and most innovative works and traveled to The World's Fair in St. Louis, MO. They won several gold, silver and bronze medals at their booth, but more importantly Mrs. Seelye purchased several pieces directly from the Van Briggles. These pieces are now on display in the Library and the Butler's pantry at the Seelye Mansion.
