My cousin Gary asked how thing are going with Chmack? Well, things came to a screeching halt when summer arrived. Now that it has cooled off I can get back at it. I had it close to completing the running gear but each time I added or changed something I became more concerned with the heavy duty bicycle tires at speeds capable of 40 plus so I am looking for small motorcycle wheels. I redesigned the suspension and disassembled the existing before it got hot. My redo is costing me more but I want something that will be able yo sell and easy to market/roadworthy. Of course funding to this point has been through loving supporting family. There are a couple of street rodder friends here in town who say they may be interested in backing me with producing more for resale but they want me to finish this one first.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of things I am not able to do by myself such as crawl under it. So for now I can only work on upholstery and electrical etc. My initial plan was to do it all by myself but my stroke made that improbable. Ideally a helper/gopher/someone with two steady hands would make it flow. A Rolls Royce takes a long time and lots of people. I have several friends who have asked if they can come play but without a scheduled time nobody has made it.

One of the potential backers says they should sell for $6-10k. So far, I have about $1500 in it but a great deal of that is trial and error, design and redesign, or mistakes and "What the...." I believe the ideal will cost $1-2 k to build and sell $7-10 without question. Everyone wants something different.

If I had someone helping to assemble and complete this I would start another, likely the semi and finish it a lot quicker because of the major changes I would make to the frame etc.

I would also start right away building stripped down rail/buggy pedal cars. I have seen others selling for $2-3k that can be built for $300.

There you have an update. That is my plan. I will continue to look for long term partners. Meanwhile I have been building my canes. Check them out on Facebook Cane4u.

Due to the power of the 110 cc engine and the potential speed, I have opted to remove the standard bicycle wheels, 3/8" axles, and support systems in favor of wheels from a horse drawn sulky cart. They are only slightly wider but the axles are 5/8 or 3/4" and the hub width is 3 1/2" - 5". The cost per wheel assembly is between $50 and $100 per wheel as compared to salvaged wheels. The added upgrade to the axles and spindles will be $50. I feel it is needed to make the Chmack as safe as possible.

I am nearing completion on my first people powered (kinda) vehicle. This one has a single set of pedals with 21 speed shimano derailleur. Wanting to stay dry and warm, I added the cab as well as; street legal lighting, stereo, DVD, ahooga horn, and because of the weight, a 110cc 4 stroke engine with electric start, auto and reverse. My other designs have electric motor options as well.

Just setting up a page to spark investors and buyers of my new toys. More photos will come as I continue the progress. I have on hand designs for several other haulers, including: 18 wheeler, hummer, jeep, VW bus, School bus, and others. The Chmack will be in it's first car show next Thursday in Abilene. The Chmack derived the name from the 1927 Mack for which I designed it. Unlike the Mack bulldog, my Chmack will have a Chihuahua.
