Jeffcoat Photography Studio Museum Admission is Free The Jeffcoat Photography Studio Museum continues that tradition by preserving and storing those same negatives. In 1948 he came home.

The Jeffcoat family saved all the photo negatives in the hopes that families would come back and get copies of the family photos that were taken at the studio. We also offer copies of those negatives. The Jeffcoat Photography Studio Museum also houses an extensive collection of cameras and photo equipment. ay. Lucy Jeffcoat 1871-1950
At the age of 16 she traveled from Abilene to Williamsport to learn how to retouch photographs. She worked out of the home for many years retouching local photographers' works. In 1921, she and her son Paul "Bud" Jeffcoat started a photography business. Paul "Bud" Jeffcoat 1899-1976
Bud started the Jeffcoat photography business in 1921 with his mother. In 1925 he built the building where the current museum is housed. Bill Jeffcoat 1925-2007
After graduating from high school, Bill traveled the country working for photographers. A famous local man by the name of General Dwight D. Eisenhower was running for President of the United States of America and Bill's inquisitive nature would not let him miss the opportunity to document the changes happening in his small town.

We were honored when The Eisenhower Foundation asked to borrow Jeffcoat cameras for their Cold War display at this year's Legacy Gala. This is a very creative way to present these interesting cameras.

This is just a reminder that the Open House for the exhibit "The 1960s" starts tomorrow, 17 Oct., from 4:30pm until 7:00. It's a fun exhibit to learn about the 1960s or relive it.

An article in the newspaper from Bill Jeffcoat (not verbatim): In days gone by there used to be a parade through downtown marching all the way to the cemetery. Later, years it stopped at 7th and Cedar and Doss Stewart got a mill truck to haul the band the rest of the way.
Matt Guilfoyle and Fred Rice would speak, followed by taps. The service has been going on since the Civil War. Most of the traditions are now gone except the Abilene band.

Pioneer Camp is coming up this June. This year camp is 3rd-7th and 10th-14th. Students 3rd- 5th grade will be learning how the Pioneers traveled East to Kansas. What it was like to homestead. Teaching them many skills that can be used today. Camp starts a 9:00am-1:00pm. We have limited spots so call in today 785-263-2681 to get your spot reserved and registration form today. Camp cost $125.
