How many remember hearing the Chimes playing bell sounding music from the City Hall’s external speakers? It ran similar to a player-piano with rolls of plastic sheets with holes to sound out the music. Well, the machine is still in the sound room of the Band Shell. Might have to be another project to get it running again.

Here’s an old time Sauerkraut Day Photo. Looks like a big crowd to check out the Wildlife Exhibit. I wonder, after the patrons left the trailer, if they went across the street to check out the Wildlife inside the notorious Northside Tavern?!! Take note, that they built the Miller Hospital right next door west of that tavern. Quite a convenience, the losers in the bar room brawl, who got their brains knocked, had good ol’ Doc Miller stuff and stitched their brains right back in for the next time!!!!! Isn’t history fun?
