So many good things happing in downtown Adena, Ohio! Shoutout to John & Amy Sebring and their family for investing in the future of our post office. It’s a slight inconvenience for now, but these guys are working overtime to get the job done as quickly as possible and to minimize the disruption. The split face blocks on the new porch look great! Here’s a tour of what we found hiding in the woods at the Presbyterian Cemetery.

Thanks to local cemetery expert, Tammy Hosenfeld. On Sunday she spent a few hours in the Presbyterian Cemetery sharing her knowledge and making a plan to restore and record the site. The stone of Dorothy McLaughlin, who only lived one year, (pictured below), was completely underground. We are looking for a team of volunteers to help with what will likely be a multi-year project. We will start having scheduled workdays soon. Tasks include locating stones, resetting stones that have fallen or are crooked, trimming trees, and brush, and more. If you have serious interest in helping, please message us with your email address so that we can establish a list of core volunteers.
