We had an amazing weekend at Golden State Pinball Festival! It's always wonderful to see so many of our members, league players and regular patrons at the show - the Pacific Pinball family stands strong πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ€©

Our Board President Larry Zartarian spearheaded bringing nearly (20) rare woodrails from the 1950's and was honored with the Spirit of Steve Charland Award, Executive Director Evan Phillippe and Founder Michael Schiess held a seminar about our Pinball Archive project and Mike also hosted a Dan Fontes retrospective to honor our late board member. Thanks as always to the NCPA, GSPF and Marco Specialities for the Pinball University series - we can't wait for next year! ☺️

If you still have a pinball scratch you need to itch, the Pacific Pinball Museum stands ready with over 100 pinballs from the 1940's to the 2020's every Tuesday through Sunday 11am to 9pm! We'll see you soon! πŸ™πŸ»β€οΈβšͺ️

We have an AMAZING weekend coming up in a few days at the Golden State Pinball Festival in Lodi! πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ€©β€οΈβšͺ️

This Friday, join us and the NCPA for the Annual "Flippin' Friday" Dinner at the Lodi Grape Festival and Harvest Fairgrounds as we honor this year's recipient of the Spirit of Steve Charland Award: PPM Board President Larry Zartarian. Larry is an avid Wedgehead Ju**ie with a large pinball collection, and a great friend to the GSPF bringing a truck full of carefully curated electro-mechanical pinball machines to the show every year.

Saturday morning, PPM Executive Director Evan Phillippe and Founder Michael Schiess will be at Marco's Pinball University from 11:30am - 12:30pm to discuss the "Pacific Pinball Archive Project", a years in the making, cutting edge digital repository of pinball information and artifacts from our vast collection.

Saturday afternoon from 4:30pm to 5pm, join PPM Founder Michael Schiess as he honors famed muralist and longtime PPM Board member Dan Fontes with a retrospective of his work with the museum and beyond.

If you can't make it out to Lodi this weekend, our main museum in Alameda's 100+ pins from all eras stands ready for your pinball needs every Tuesday to Sunday 11am to 9pm. See you soon! πŸ™πŸ»β˜ΊοΈβšͺ️

The Pacific Pinball Museum is sad to report that longtime museum supporter and well-known pinball aficionado and historian Gordon Hasse has passed away at his home in Florida at the age of 81. Over the past decades, Gordon had donated over 200 pins to our nonprofit, most from the "Golden Age of Pinball” stretching from the late 1940's to the early 1960's. His generous donations also included several reproduction backglasses, title cards and even a rare Scopitone machine and films. The museum's playable 1954 Gottlieb "Super Jumbo" is the FIRST four player game and from Gordon's vast collection. Although in ill health, Gordon had recently arranged to donate his vast paper and pinball ephemera archives to the museum to ensure they are preserved and stay accessible in the future.

We are so happy that we were able to partner with Gordon for so long, and that he had the opportunity to come out to California for our early Pacific Pinball Expositions held at the Marin Civic Center and see his games enjoyed by new generations of players. We're forever grateful for his support and passion for pinball, and our sympathies go out to his wife, Pat. πŸ™πŸ»

We are sad to share with the pinball community that longtime PPM Board Member and celebrated mural artist Dan Fontes has passed away after a battle with cancer. Dan served on the PPM Board for many years, and supported our expo shows in the Marin Civic Center and here in Alameda for our last "Shoot the Moon" Expo in 2016.

You can enjoy some of Dan's canvas pinball murals in our Alameda Museum, as well as at Musee Mecanique and Free Gold Watch in San Francisco. Dan was also responsible for the massive wall art on both sides of our History Room that greets our patrons upon museum entry every day. Our deepest condolences go out to Dan's longtime partner Julie πŸ™πŸ»

The Pacific Pinball Museum had the great honor of attending fellow nonprofit Art Deco Society of California's "Art Deco Preservation Ball" last night! πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ€© During the awards ceremony, PPM Founders Michael Schiess, Melissa Harmon and Executive Director Evan Phillippe humbly received the "Art Deco Technology Award" for the museum at the Hibernia Bank in San Francisco. We're so thankful for this recognition, as many of our rare "pre-flipper" games in the collection have beautiful Art Deco artwork, and Art Deco design even influences our museum's logo! ☺️

We support the Society's mission to preserve all things Art Deco, and we took the opportunity to mention our upcoming exhibit at the SF Historical Society where we will have the incredibly rare Exhibit "Sky-Rocket" and Exhibit "Golden Gate" pins viewable in all of their 1930's Deco glory.

Thanks so much again to the folks who nominated us, and the committee for reaching out! We hope to see you playing pins from the 1940's to the 2020's in our Alameda museum soon! πŸ™πŸ»β™₯️βšͺ️

NEW CLEAR PIN INSTALLED! πŸ€©πŸ™ŒπŸ» Our first, and arguably one of our best custom made clear pins, a 1976 Gottlieb "Surf Champ" was just installed in our Lucky JuJu room! πŸ’ͺ🏻

Painstakingly deconstructed and rebuilt under acrylic panels, you can observe the entire electromechanical mechanism that ran pinballs from the 1940's to the late 1970's before games shifted to solid state construction. 🧐

Stop by for unlimited free play on our "Surf Champ" over over 100(!) pins from the 1940's to the 2020's, with unlimited in/out privileges for the entire day! 😍❀️βšͺ️
