An intricate acrylic painting by Freddy Corbin!

A renowned tattooist, Freddy Corbin’s work has traveled everywhere from Paris to LA. These days, he owns Temple Tattoo in Oakland and has been called “one of the greatest tattoo artists of all time”.

This piece was commissioned for the Tatoueurs Tatoués exhibit at the Musée du Quai Branly eight years ago. He saw this exhibit as a chance to create “something unique and authentic to himself”.

The image emerged from his thoughts about the dark matter that holds up modern society, from themes of corruption and divine bloodlines to the troubling phenomenon of war for profit.

This piece is currently on display at the Art Thou Gallery located in Oakland City Center.
