Here are some details of the 24' x 6'3" painting for ArtPrize. Enjoy!!
Hello Everyone! I am entering ArtPrize this year with my painting, “The Future of Genetics in a Michigan Eco-system,” and I need your support. As many of you know, I was a small town boy who had a dream of making it BIG in the art world. I have done everything in my power to make this dream a reality. I have taken countless risks and have made the necessary sacrifices to build my career and just this past November, I opened my first art studio in New York City. Winning a top prize at ArtPrize would help give my painting career a significant boost which would be really welcome and amazing at this point. I have spent almost 9 months working on this painting and I love what I’ve created. I hope you do too! Please get involved. Like Vander Zee Gallery on facebook and pass this information on to your friends and family. I am exhibiting it at the Devos Center – one of the best venues for the whole competition. The first 10 days are critical to get votes and, hopefully, arrive in the top 10. Then, once I’m in the top 10, you can cast your second vote to push me towards winning the top prize.
Let me know if you’d like to get involved. I need volunteers to hand out postcards with my voting number on it to prospective voters as they view the work. You can call me to sign up. The first round of voting starts September 18. You have to register in person in Grand Rapids from what I understand. Help me get into the top 10 in the first week (that is the crucial period).
