Dear Tall Ship Providence Community,

It is with a heavy heart that we share this press release that will go out later today...and it feels particularly difficult to swallow following an exceptional Sails on the Potomac event which brought four tall ships to Alexandria’s waterfront to honor our country’s maritime heritage and gather community from near and far.

We are proud of what we have achieved at Tall Ship Providence Foundation... the community we have built, the many visitors we have welcomed, and the thousands of students we have served through our Education Program which brought Title One students to the Center at no cost. Our monthly Naval History Speaker Series, Shanty Sing-alongs, Children’s Story Hours and festive Holiday Events have brought us all together in a joyful and meaningful way...and for that we are very grateful.

None of this could have happened without all of you. The TSPF Board, Staff and Volunteers wish to express our deepest appreciation for your support of our work over these past years and collectively celebrate your generosity and commitment.

Press Release:

We are proud to be a place where people can be themselves! Happy Pride from your local tall ship 🏳️‍🌈 🌈

BUT we do know we are open to the public on Memorial Day! :)

This is one of those weekends you plan your summer around 👇

Sails on the Potomac (June 12–14) is Alexandria's signature event commemorating America's 250th, welcoming iconic tall ships to our historic Potomac River waterfront for a once-in-a-generation celebration. This year, the 48th Annual Alexandria Jazz Fest expands as part of the festival, bringing a full weekend of performances that highlight the city's and U.S. musical heritage.

It's free, family-friendly and is a can’t-miss celebration! 🎉
