HOW WE PRESERVE YOUR HISTORY....Did you know the Knowlton House Museum curators organize and preserve over 2000 items of Allendale-related history? The museum is THE storehouse of your history.
PHOTO: The Allendale Community Park exists thanks to the campaign of our WWII soldiers. After returning home from the war, the soldiers asked the Township to build a ball field. The park grew from there. The uniform in the photo is one of the first worn by the Allendale team. Can you guess the fabric it is made of?

HOW WE PRESERVE YOUR HISTORY...

This chest belonged to Mary and John Robinson, who carried their possessions in it as they emigrated from England. They settled in Allendale in the mid 1800s. The chest also holds two hand-written lesson books with calf or sheep skin coverings.
