The Buffalo County Bank originated on August 4, 1901. In November 1901, a new bank building was constructed to house the bank at 201 S. Eau Claire Street, Mondovi, WI. On June 10, 1918, this organization changed its name to the Mondovi State Bank. In 1938, the Mondovi State Bank acquired the Gilmanton State Bank (which was incorporated in 1910) and converted it to a branch. This worked very well for the bank as it was only 8 miles away.
