Hello friends, neighbors, and kind strangers finding your way here —
I’m Anita Darling, and I’m grateful you’ve arrived.
I’m an artist and a writer here in the Atlanta area, but more than anything, I’m a mother whose life has been shaped by love, loss, and the long road of returning home to myself. Over the past few years, I’ve been writing a book born from that journey — a survivor’s memoir woven with guided reflections and gentle invitations to heal.
It’s called Return Home.
This book carries truths I once felt too ashamed to speak but now feel called to share — not for attention, but for connection. For the ones who have loved someone lost to addiction. For those who carry grief that doesn’t quiet itself with time. For the ones who feel unseen, unheard, or unsure how to make it back to themselves.
I wrote this as a flare for anyone wandering through the same shadows.
A companion.
A light in the dark.
A reminder that while pain ripples through families, healing can ripple too.
I’m honored to begin sharing pieces of this journey with you.
If you feel something here — a tug, a recognition, a breath you didn’t know you were holding — I hope you stay.
There is room for you here. 🤍
