“BLEEDING HEART is a collection of hand carved linoleum block relief prints by Madeline E. Goolie. Her prints depict a variety of animals, as well as self-portraits, that address the struggles of losing a loved one. She has expressed extravagant and overwhelming, feelings through her bold and vivid colored relief prints. While printmaking is often a strict art form, her moody art style is loose and free formed a contrast that is important to her and her process.”

About the Artist:
“My name is ChaCha Flores and I am an Alaskan born and raised, self taught custom artist. I have been inspired by art since I was very young. I see art everywhere I look in the world. I am inspired by experiencing art through travel and dance, whether it be ballet, tap, latin or ballroom. My art presents itself in many forms: resin, acrylic/watercolor paints, murals, face/body painting, balloon art, nature art, clothing design, tattoos/Jagua, and many more.”

Paiz is committed to his home of Alaska and has enjoyed working with the Municipality of Anchorage’s public art program and non-profits such as the Food Bank of Alaska to create art for the community’s benefit. Paiz believes art’s role in beautifying space is crucial to build a sense of identity and pride for all Alaskans.
