Art Bio:
Let me introduce you to Robin and Drew Correro. They are ten year old twins who stay busy with travel, education and the pursuit of their many talents. I met them at the Church Street Cultural Arts Centre where they were taking ballet classes with Meryane Murphy. [ Look for them in the Nutcracker production. Robin is in the Party Scene and Drew is Fritz and a Jester with Robin.]
Robin and Drew have qualified for several Summer Intensives, acted in four stage productions and take classes in Jazz, tap, acrobatics, piano and trumpet.
I asked Robin what are some of your favorite things and here is her list: ballet, acting, math, reading, going to museums and the color baby blue.
Drew's list: Ballet, stage, reading, Karate [green belt], football and the color lime green.
It's good to find young people with humor, goals and a desire to learn. January brings the Sleeping Beauty production. Robin, Drew and all the dancers are in rehearsal. It's one of my favorites. Hope to see you there.

The LAAC Junior Board is excited to host their first annual Art Walk in conjunction with Christmas in Candyland. Local artists will display their art and perhaps demonstrate their art process.

The square will be closed to traffic. Please contact Jessica Palmer at 334-208-7872 or Sheila Rhea at 334-222-3205 for more information.

Don't forget to drop by The Gallery to see the latest art exhibit. Beautiful work and all by Andalusia artists.

Art bio:
Recently I met Paige Landreneau at the Andalusia Cultural Arts Centre. She's a slim twelve year old with a calm manner and a sweet smile. Paige has taken Ballet classes for five years and this summer attended the School of American Ballet. She is a very talented up and coming dancer who will perform in the Nutcracker in December and Sleeping Beauty which are presented by Andalusia Ballet.
Her family lives on a working farm and she loves riding horses with her brother and three sisters. She's a part of the US Pony Club and has reached D2 level. Paige is a night person who likes classical music, reading biographies, writing and foot massages. Her future goals....to be a member of the Principle Royal Ballet.
I can see that happening!

Art bio:

Andalusia Cultural Arts Centre welcomes Hannah Cross who is offering private instruction on the piano. Hannah graduated from Andalusia High School and then attended Belhaven University on a vocal scholarship with the intent of majoring in Voice Performance. Upon graduation from Belhaven, Hannah took a teaching post at French Camp Academy in French Camp, Mississippi. She moved back home to Andalusia to take the position of Executive Director at Sav-A-Life Family Hope Center.

You may contact Hannah Cross on her page or call 769-257-3281. I'm adding a small album with photos and information on her classes, recitals and her teaching schedule.

ASA blog:
Can just anyone learn to draw and paint? Yes they can if they are willing to put fourth the EFFORT required to learn and ENJOY the process enough to stick with it. Of course not everyone will be a modern day Monet or Picasso. However you can produce art that gives pleasure to yourself and others. This is clearly evident in our local art classes where instructors encourage students to relax, to find their own creative style and enjoy learning and doing.
Do yourself a favor: join an art class!
We welcome your opinions and thoughts.
