Anderson Historical Society and Museum Located in Anderson, California. Many non electric tools, toys, utility items, mining display, farm/ranch items, ACID Canal model and much more.

Open second Saturdays 9-1 With artifacts, photographs, research library, pioneer histories, Civil War, WWI AND WWII display, Mining and Farming displays, non electric tools and toys, and the Columbia one room school House. We have all year books for AUHS and WVHS as well as many grammar school year books from the 50's and 60's and encourage reunion committees to have meetings here.

President Doug Hirsch resigned, Vice President became President, Vice president position now vacant.
Board meeting yesterday pictured clockwise from the top, John Snider President/Treasurer, Jean Dersch Harp, Toy McNeil, Chuck Higgs visiotor, Don Bloom Past President, Randy Pricert visitor, Charles Cook 5th, Marvel Delfer Lavy. Attending by phone Randy Rickert Secretary. Officers and board members are de facto as proper documentation of last election was incomplete, good vote and we hope to do it right next time so we can be in facto.

Open today 9am-1pm. Only 2 visitors and both top notch. Stan Pottkotter class of '69 and Jeanne Sue Forester Smith class of
'70. Both have parents that were in business in Cottonwood and were looking for ads of their businesses in our Cottonwood Elementary School year books in the 50's-60's with some Reminiscent Therapy thrown in, good times !! Jeanne is putting together a Family Geneaology binder to include in our Library, should be a good one with relatives back to the 1700's. Both joined as new members and got our promo free History Books of Anderson, Cottonwood, Happy Valley and a 2026 Calendar.

Last Thursday Richard Bershbaugh brought in a 110 year old Underwood Typewriter and AtwaterKent Radio.  Need to be clean...

Thomas Freeman was the first settler to buy here in 1854. His adobe was a convenient stopping place for miners, freighters and pack trains on their way to the gold diggings.

Elias Anderson bought Freeman's 160 acre American Ranch in December 1856, and enlarged the Ranch to 370 acres.
