Meet Achey, she is the new Miwuk Museum and Cultural Center (MMCC) mascot.

Achey is an honored elder, gentle guardian, and storyteller inspired by our traditions. With her acorn-shaped form, leafy cloak, and walking staff, Achey represents the deep connection between community, nature, and heritage. Acorns have long been a vital part of Miwuk life, symbolizing sustenance, resilience, and the rhythms of the land—and Achey carries that legacy with pride.

As the MMCC mascot, Achey welcomes visitors of all ages, inviting them to explore, learn, and reflect.

We can't wait to welcome you all, and make sure to keep an eye out for Achey on our social media!
