Victor Valley Museum-A San Bernardino County Museum

Victor Valley Museum-A San Bernardino County Museum In 1976, the Victorville Courthouse installed temporary exhibits in its lobbies and hallways to honor the U.S. bicentennial in 1976. to 4 p.m. Parking is free.

The Victor Valley Museum develops visitors’ appreciation of our diverse regional identity to spark their curiosity, to stimulate inquiry, to challenge their assumptions, and to invite them to contribute to our common future. The Victor Valley Museum is a branch of the San Bernardino County Museum and maintains and develops unique cultural and natural science collections related to the High Desert.

These exhibits were the catalyst for the formation of this local nonprofit museum, chartered in 1978. Displays remained in the courthouse for more than a decade until the Victor Valley Museum building was constructed in Apple Valley; and opened in 1992. Today, exhibits in the Victor Valley Museum are organized around the theme, "Discover Your Own Backyard." Visitors enjoy learning about the archaeology and anthropology, history, geology and paleontology, and biological sciences of the high desert. Programs and events at the Victor Valley Museum engage families, children, educators, and people of all ages in educational STEM goals: science, technology, engineering and math. Whether walking through the museum galleries, alongside a prehistoric mammoth or a local hero; finding scavenger hunt artifacts; creating a model of earth, or breaking open geodes to see what’s inside, the Victor Valley Museum has a compelling story for everyone! The Victor Valley Museum is located at 11873 Apple Valley Road in Apple Valley. The museum is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. Admission is $10 (adult), $8 (senior or military), $7 (student), and $5 (children 6-12 years old). Children under 5 and San Bernardino County Museum Foundation members are free. For more information, visit www.sbcountymuseum.org. The museum is accessible to persons with disabilities.

Over the past year, we’ve taken a thoughtful look at how we share our work with you.

Our museum system spans multiple campuses and historic sites across the greater San Bernardino County region. While each location has its own character and focus, we are one institution — stewarding collections, stories, research, and community experiences together.

To better reflect that unity, we’re bringing our social media presence under one name: .

This change wasn’t made lightly. We considered how you engage with us, how our stories intersect, and how we can communicate more clearly and consistently across our campuses. Bringing everything together allows us to:

• Share the full scope of our work in one place
• Reduce confusion about where to find accurate information
• Elevate the museum system as a whole
• Create stronger storytelling across sites

What won’t change?
Our commitment to serving our communities, honoring regional history, and creating meaningful experiences for visitors of all ages.

You’ll still see posts from our main campus, our high desert campus, and our historic sites — now woven together as part of one shared story.

We invite you to follow along at as we begin this next chapter.

Your history. Our region. One museum system.
