A big thank you to all the members who celebrated the new exhibits with us tonight!

We loved seeing so many familiar and new faces exploring Lightning Lights Our Way by Shane Walsh, Second Sights by Scott Espeseth, and the Cup Show.

Lightning Lights Our Way by Milwaukee artist Shane Walsh is open!

Walsh’s paintings draw from an array of references, including xeroxed zines, 1990s subcultures, television motion graphics, and early graffiti. These elements are choreographed to create “Frankenstein-like” compositions that are melded but intentionally never seamless.

Second Sights by Wisconsin artist Scott Espeseth is open!

"The works in this show are drawings, made with black watercolor on paper. For me, drawing is about transparency, the most direct route from an idea to the paper. Watercolor pushes back on my obsessive tendencies, requiring me to make compromises and not lose the forest for the trees. The drawings are inspired by chance encounters with objects, spaces, or events that trigger moments of clarity, where they suddenly appear to be intensely strange or intensely beautiful."

Museum members are invited to celebrate the exhibit during Member Exhibit Night next weekend: Sat, May 30 | 6–9 PM

We'll also be celebrating the opening of the Cup Show and Lightning Lights Our Way by Shane Walsh!
