Looking for a night of laughs the whole family can enjoy? Join us for Improv Night at the BFK on Wednesday, July 8! From 5 - 7pm, the Zadak sisters from This Is Improv will host an evening of hilarious improv games and activities. Step into the spotlight or sit back, laugh, and cheer on others—it’s sure to be a memorable night! Pizza and plenty of after-hours playtime in the museum are also included.

The BFK Children’s Parade, presented by ThedaCare, is more than a typical parade—it's a celebration of the kids in our community, followed by a night of free activities and entertainment. After walking through downtown with costumes and non-motorized floats, enjoy activities, live music, and dinner from one of several food trucks in City Park. Then, wrap up the evening with a trolley ride back to Houdini Plaza!

Families had a great time at our previous overnight lock-in event, and we can't wait for our next one on June 19! During Camp BFK, you'll get the classic summer camp experience with screen-free activities. Make friendship bracelets in The Studio, play camp games, and tell campfire stories around our paper "campfire". Then, set up camp in the location of your choice and settle in for the night.

After browsing fresh snacks, handcrafted goods, and locally grown produce at the real thing, continue the experience inside with our Food to Grow exhibit, sponsored by Children's Wisconsin. Outagamie County Public Health will lead a presentation on identifying developmental delays and demonstrate some low-cost learning activities with common household items. We're excited to announce that Launchpad Playful Preschool, powered by the Building for Kids, is coming to downtown Appleton. This new preschool emphasizes the development of cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and creative skills through open-ended, child-directed play experiences. Located across the street from the BFK at the Family Resource Center, Launchpad will serve ages 3-5. Sessions will begin fall of 2026, and various times slots will be available.
