*DID YOU KNOW...???...!!!...*..that "National Handwriting Day" is celebrated on January 23rd?? Neither did I!...🤷‍♀️ It was established in 1977 by the Writing Instrument Manufacturers Association to promote the use of pens and pencils. The date was chosen to honor John Hancock, whose birthday it is, and he is famously known for his prominent signature on the Declaration of Independence.

I'm so excited about this because I love calligraphy - or 'beautiful lettering" - and it is one of many kinds of creative classes that we plan to offer this year at the Art Gallery!!

There's a lot to learn, and a lot to try coming up this year at the Gallery. We hope you take part in some. Stay tuned! ☺🎨
