The ๐™Ž๐™–๐™œ๐™ฌ๐™–๐™ฃ ๐™‹๐™ง๐™ค๐™Ÿ๐™š๐™˜๐™ฉt continues to support learners in their journey back to education through a community-based approach grounded in partnership and care.

Implemented at Doรฑa Pilar M. Alberton Integrated High School, the initiative provides academic support, access to essential needs, and opportunities that help students stay engaged in school. Through close coordination with teachers, families, and local stakeholders, each learner is guided with consistent mentorship and encouragement throughout their return to the classroom.

The project currently supports a group of learners who have re-entered formal education, many of whom come from financially challenged backgrounds. With regular assistance that helps cover essential school-related needs, the program aims to ease barriers that often prevent students from continuing their studies. At the same time, collaboration with community partners helps extend support beyond the classroom, including opportunities that can strengthen family stability.

More than a single intervention, the Sagwan Project reflects a shared effort to build a supportive environment where learners are given the chance to continue, adapt, and grow at their own pace.

Small steps, steady support, and strong partnershipsโ€”working together to make education more accessible.

The Adopt A Ship San Pedro Program continues to create meaningful impact through strong collaboration between schools and the maritime industry.

With 28 partner schools and 12 shipping companies working hand in hand, we have successfully reached 36,389 students across elementary, junior high, and senior high school levels during School Year 2025โ€“2026.

This journey was made possible through the support of 183 teachers and 168 maritime officers who helped inspire students, promote maritime awareness, and open opportunities for the next generation of maritime leaders.

Together, we are building bridges between education and industryโ€”strengthening communities, empowering learners, and shaping brighter futures through maritime education.

Thank you to all our partner schools and shipping companies for your continued trust, commitment, and shared vision.

The Adopt A Ship Program continues to create a strong and positive impact by improving studentsโ€™ understanding of maritime concepts, geography lessons, and essential topics in the basic curriculum. Through interactive classroom discussions, engaging educational activities, and real-world exposure to the maritime industry, students from twenty-eight participating elementary and secondary schools in San Pedro, Laguna demonstrated significant improvement in both their pre-test and post-test scores. These quantitative results clearly show remarkable gains in student performance, proving that the program effectively strengthens learning comprehension and helps students connect classroom lessons with practical maritime knowledge.

Survey results also revealed that students developed a deeper appreciation and stronger interest in the maritime industry. A large majority of respondents selected โ€œAgreeโ€ and โ€œStrongly Agreeโ€ when asked about their learning experience, showing that the program successfully captured their attention and maintained their active participation throughout the implementation period. Students not only gained factual knowledge about shipping operations, navigation, and global trade, but they also improved their analytical thinking skills and understanding of how the maritime sector contributes to everyday life and international commerce.

More than just an educational initiative, the Adopt A Ship Program serves as a bridge between schools and industry by inspiring students to explore maritime-related careers and opportunities. It strengthens awareness of the importance of the maritime field while promoting values of learning, collaboration, and community development. Through the continued support of its partners, the program helps empower the next generation with knowledge, confidence, and a broader vision for a brighter and more sustainable future. ๐Ÿšข๐Ÿ“š๐ŸŒ
