Today is the GRAND OPENING of my virtual art gallery. After careful consideration. I have decided to postpone the physical gallery until April 2014. In the meantime I am testing out an entirely new concept in buying artwork.

I am selling medium and full resolution digital files w/ limited(personal use only) copyrights of my artwork. This means that you have full control over how to enjoy my artwork. Once you purchase and download a file you will be able to print it on anything that you desire. i will lead you to photo labs that print on smartphone covers, laptop skins, bed sheets, rugs, pillows, and aluminum panels for the wall. Within the Melted Mind Gallery will be the Virtual Art Space of Asheville(VASA Gallery.) There will be a section in the gallery with a 50" HDTV where you will be able to virtually walk around local artists' virtual art space(VAS). If one is interest in an artist, we will set an appointment to physically meet and view their work. For the 1st 10 artists, there will be no cost to the artist for a 20 image VAS. We will collect a 20% commission if an artwork is sold. Please pass this onto any WNC artists that you know.

You will need to download a viewer, it will prompt you if you are on a computer.
It can also be viewed on a smart phone, but you need to download the VAS 3d Gallery app from your app store.

I submitted all of the paperwork today for review and hopefully approval for the Grove Arcade gallery space. I feel like an expected father today. I did a little foot traffic count in front of the gallery space. 57 people in 30 minutes, and that was during the 11am hour which apparently is the slow time of day. Not bad for a Wednesday between summer and leaf season.

Now I feel like I'm on a reality TV show. I have 15 days to upfit a gallery space, set up a point of sale system, finish a full commerce website, and get all of the artwork and products produced. At the page is done. Thank you all for "liking my page." I will send invites out as soon as the ink has dried on the lease. It has to go through an approval process, it might take a week. I see some all nighters in my near future.

I've been looking for almost a month at several spaces for the gallery. And sometimes you just come across a place that was just meant to be, a space that was begging for me to lease it. I found that space today while walking around the Grove Arcade. I knew it was a long shot went I started driving over there. But there it was, with a brand new for lease sign in the window 3 doors down from Sante wine bar. I am reading through the 36 page lease right now. This place is the perfect size of 800 sq ft. and at a monthly rent that won't kill me. I talked to several store owners in there and the foot traffic is great. I counted 35 people in 20 mins. and its a tuesday. If everything goes well, I'll be looking at a grand opening of Nov. 1.

I will not be waiting for the storefront gallery to open its doors for that will be anywhere from 1 to 6 months from now, for I have been working feverishly on producing images, selecting suppliers, and working on the Ecommerce website. Please be thinking about Holiday gifts. I will be offering my images on jewelry, smartphone skins and cases, laptop skins, furniture, tshirts, and limited edition prints.

I am now looking at six different storefront locations for the gallery. 5 are in downtown Asheville and 1 in Biltmore Village. I will be posting these locations in the next week so you can help me choose.

I am back from Prague, Czech Republic with some great ideas for designing the art gallery. There will be some very cool visual effects unlike another storefront in Asheville.
