Trump’s Treasury Department is planning to add his signature to all denominations of the United States Dollar moving forward, which will mark the first time in history that the sitting president’s signature will appear on American currency, with Trump’s signature expected to replace that of the U.S. Treasurer, Brandon Beach, sitting alongside his Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent’s, several sources, including Beach himself, have confirmed to Vanity Fair.

"I've always been a hardcore fan of Sam Gilliam's work, and had a fantasy of collaborating with him on a collection or special project at some point, or at least meeting him. ⁣⁣

I feel a connection to his work as a Black, Southern-born artist that used his specific experiences to inform his work in an expansive, abstract way, with a strong focus on disrupting color theory and an unabashedly declarative presentation style. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
He was the first artist to propose the idea of 'the unsupported canvas,' being inspired by laundry hanging outside of his studio. That idea of a random, abject reference really resonates with me as an artist and designer. Losing him this year is a loss to artists of all kinds and mediums."⁣⁣

Happy birthday, William Blake!

Largely unrecognized during his lifetime, the English artist and poet is now celebrated for his imaginative and enigmatic pictorial and literary creations.

In this piece, Satan hovers over the incapacitated Eve, whose body is wrapped by the serpent from the Garden of Eden. Blake made this work using an innovative, hybrid process that combines painting, printmaking, and drawing.
