Olin's Bridge was constructed in 1873 by a builder named Potter. ( No relation to the family)The bridge is of Town Truss design and spans the Ashtabula River in Plymouth Township.Though the Olin family has owned property near the bridge since 1861, it was known as the Dewey Rd. Bridge until 1981. Olin's Museum features the covered bridge collection of Naomi Olin Bottorf, who's family the bridge was named after. Naomi was born in a small cabin at the west end of the bridge in 1900. She remained in Ashtabula all her life. In 1981 at the passing of her husband, funds gifted in his memory were used for new paint, shingles and facias. The work having been completed by family, friends, and neighbors. It was at this time that the County presented her with a sign that read " Olin's Bridge". Naomi passed in 1995 just shy of her 95th birthday. The museum opened on 2003 displaying her life long passion for covered bridges.
