From 6 to 27 November, Opera Gallery Geneva is delighted to present ‘Introducing’, a new annual exhibition dedicated to first encounters!

For its first edition, ‘Introducing’ brings together eight artists from around the world: Hadassah Emmerich, Zoey Frank, Louis Granet, Alina Grasmann, Edyta Hul, Magdalena Karpińska, Patrick Puckett and Ilana Zweschi. Some transform landscapes, gardens and flowers into vibrant fields of colour and abstraction, while others explore intimate interiors and the figures who inhabit them.

Rather than following a single theme, the exhibition invites these distinct practices into conversation, letting affinities and unexpected connections emerge.

‘I’m still in favour of beauty;’ said Tom Wesselmann, ‘good, old-fashioned, no-holds-barred beauty.’

Colourful, playful and boldly erotic, his works reinvented the n**e for 1960s America. After his celebrated ‘Great American Nude’ series, Wesselmann kept innovating over the decades while revisiting his earlier work. In his ‘Bedroom Paintings’, he brought together elements of the Great American Nudes, seascapes and still lifes, zooming in on intimate details such as hands, feet and breasts.

Step into Kenny Scharf’s cosmic universe! 🪐

While his major exhibition is on view at Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza, Opera Gallery Madrid presents a focused selection of works tracing more than four decades of the artist’s career.

A key figure of New York’s East Village scene in the early 1980s, Scharf has built a world entirely his own, blending pop culture, science fiction, Surrealism and cartoon imagery into what he calls ‘Pop Surrealism’.
