Aspen High School students washing a car during the Senior Class Car Wash, 1969. They are on E. Hopkins Avenue near the Fire Department; the Brand Building is across the street. A related image is in the Aspen Illustrated News on May 15, 1969 (page 6), with a caption reading "The recent Senior Class Car Wash, dampened by bold, cloudy weather, succeeded in polishing up ten cars and raising $15.00 according to class president Chelle Reynolds. Six seniors helped. Purpose of the project was to raise funds for the class trip, scheduled for May 26 to 29, to Arches National Monument near Moab, Utah. The group of about 20 to 25 students plan to camp out. The School Board has approved the trip, but requested that the seniors try to find two more adult chaperones in addition to Mr. Hutmacher and Mrs. Blakeslee."

Construction activity near F***y Hill at Snowmass, 1969. There are several levels of condominiums built, and Sam's K**b and the Big Burn are visible in the background. This image is in the Aspen Illustrated News on May 22, 1969 (page 16), with a caption reading "The lower slopes of West Village blossomed with construction material this spring. No wonder, the projected eight million dollars’ worth of construction slated at Snowmass-at-Aspen this summer requires quite a stockpile." The Lichenhearth Condominiums (located at 150 Carriage Way) and the Tamarack Townhomes are being built.
