THE SIX WIVES OF HENRY VIII EXHIBIT COMING TO THE MOW!
For those of you following us on Facebook you know we have been working on this exhibit for a while. The throne room is now finished! And we are anticipating the sixth queen to be completed by the end of November. We are hoping to have an open house in early December to open this fantastic, permanent exhibit.
The six busts of the six queens were commissioned by the MOW and sculpted by the incredible sculptor, Polina Verbytska. The headpieces are created by the amazingly talented, Bo***ir Queen. And wait until you see the jewelry, by Gypsy Handmade. All coming soon to the MOW!

Remember the museum is CLOSED for the Fall and Winter. Follow us on FB for our open house date during our closed months.

SCI-FI RAYGUN TRUCK BY ARTIST JOE CHASSE ON DISPLAY AT THE MOW!

I purchased this incredible Raygun truck 10 years ago at Riversea Gallery in Astoria. The truck has been here through all the various events and businesses we’ve held in the building for the last 10 years. The truck has been having fun in the MOW since we made the building a museum 3 summers ago. Many people are surprised and delighted when they walk around a corner in the museum and encounter the Raygun truck. It fascinates and puzzles everyone with many asking, Is that a real Raygun? Um, NO.

I recently had the pleasure of communicating with the creator of the truck, JOE CHASSE from Ocean Park. We determined that the MOW has the very first Raygun Truck that Joe made! Yay!

JOE CHASSE creates incredible assemblage art and he will be exhibiting and selling his work next weekend in Long Beach at the Peninsula Arts Association 49th Annual Fall Arts Show, Oct 4, 5, & 6 Visit the Peninsula Arts Association website for more information www.beachartist.org

MY VAN GOGH REPRODUCTIONS, OIL ON CANVAS AT THE MOW!

Many of you who have toured the Museum of Whimsy have asked if I have any of my own work on display in the museum. As of now I don’t have my art work in the mow. But I decided I will do a semi permanent exhibit in the museum of the my own work in oil paints starting with my Van Gogh reproductions that I painted in the year 2000. I love Van Gogh’s colors and style of painting.

The last painting featured here of the House and Tall Trees is an original that I painted in oil on canvas in the Van Gogh style.

Open most Fridays and Saturdays 12:00-4:00 in the Summer thru Early Fall.
