I was placing art at the gallery today and just started placing the antique furniture that I've been restoring. This is a secretary desk, circa 1930s-40s. It was covered in paint when I found it. I restored it to the original finish. Interesting story about how all the details came together... The front was hanging down so I had to put it back, tighten it and it opens great now... One of the little drawers on the inside was missing and I found one in a random pile of wood someone threw out... It fits like Cinderella's slipper. It was obvious this piece wanted to be saved.

The winter wonderland event at Toco Hills shopping center is going to be this Sunday December 17, 10-1pm It was postponed from last week due to weather. So, it will be the 17th. There will be music and children's crafts outside Spiller Park coffee, but please stop into Westside Market Toco Hill to visit Galerie Epoché and see many other artists, as well as decorators and find unique gifts for those still on your list or something special for yourself. You deserve to indulge.

Some more works that have recently sold - local Decatur Pop artist Brannon Gullatt's "Atomic Angel" went home with a very happy collector, as well as a Barbie inspired candle "Tricksy", and celebrity mixed media portrait "The Secret Word" went home with an avid Peewee Herman collector... happy artist, happy collectors...

Some paintings that have recently sold: Vickie Martin's "the Long and Winding Road" and David V Hansfords' "Ometepe". Both collectors are just thrilled to have the pieces in their homes.

Local artist Vickie Martin's work is currently available for purchase at Galerie Epoché located in Westside Market, Toco Hills, Atlanta.

Vickie has recently completed a quest in collage, making one collage per day for 28 days. This body of work will be displayed in full at Galerie Epoche soon. Stay tuned for details.
