We are The Breman: a cultural center where story keepers and story seekers come together to engage in dialogue, connect with history, and experience the arts. The William Breman Jewish Heritage Museum in Atlanta celebrates and commemorates Jewish history, culture, and art through events featuring concerts, movies, books, discussions, genealogy, and group tours. Our three display areas feature The

Holocaust, Southern Jewish Heritage & History, and a constantly changing gallery of engaging themes ranging from the Art of Maurice Sendak to lifestyle displays of the art of Jewish cooking. Our museum also contains the Cuba Family Archives for Southern Jewish History, which houses thousands of manuscript and photograph collections, as well as hundreds of artifacts, textiles, and oral histories related to southern Jewish history and the Holocaust.

An evening you won't forget is coming to The Breman. 🎹

Song you didn't realize you knew by heart!

On Sunday, June 7th, we're bringing the music of Burt Bacharach to life in the most intimate setting imaginable - a concert and cabaret experience presented by Flying Carpet Theatre, right here in Midtown Atlanta.

Equal parts concert, cabaret, and storytelling, this performance weaves together the fascinating life of one of America's greatest Jewish composers with the music that defined a generation.

What does an archivist do? Well, a little bit of everything.

From organizing newly donated collections and preserving fragile documents to recording oral histories and helping researchers uncover family and community stories, The Breman’s archives team works every day to protect and share Jewish Southern history.

Want to explore the collections yourself? Visit the archives section of our website to search oral histories, photographs, manuscript collections, or even Ask the Archivist!

One of the most powerful ways we preserve history is by listening.

At The Breman’s oral history studio, members of the community share firsthand stories about growing up Jewish in Georgia — experiences, memories, traditions, and moments that might otherwise be lost to time.

These voices help bring history to life in a deeply personal way.

This Memorial Day, we pause to remember. 🇺🇸

To every man and woman who gave everything in service to this country - thank you. Your sacrifice is not forgotten.

Memory is not passive. It has to be collected, preserved, and protected - deliberately and with care.

That's the work happening every day inside The Breman's Cuba Family Archives for Southern Jewish History. Photographs, documents, oral histories, and artifacts that tell the story of a community - and ensure that story is never lost.

This Jewish American Heritage Month, we're reminded of exactly why that work matters.

Come explore the archives. Come meet the memory keepers. Come be part of keeping the story alive.
