Attleboro Area Industrial Museum

Attleboro Area Industrial Museum AAIM collects and preserves artifacts that relate to the industrial history of the Attleboro area. Take a good look at our area's history!

We at the Attleboro Area Industrial Museum work to preserve and present the rich history of the Attleboro area with an emphasis on its industrial history. We strive to present this history through interesting exhibits and programs, access to historic photos and documents, and participation in civic activities. We welcome visits by individuals and groups interested in exploring Attleboro Area Histo

ry. We are active in making historic presentations both at the museum and out in our community. We hope you will visit us often through our web site, our social media, and at our museum building.

Free Make & Take This Saturday!

The Fire Queen built in 1850 was used in Attleboro until 1885 when the town upgraded it’s fire protection to install water mains in populated areas. The Fire Queen required 24 people in order to transport it to the scene of the fire and to activate the hand pump.

See the Fire Queen in person and create your own hand pump using everyday items: water bottles, straws, and balloons. Learn the science behind how water travels through pipes using pressure.

🗓 This Saturday, March 21st
⏰ Drop in anytime between 10:30am–1:30pm

Free and open to all ages. We hope to see you there!

This Saturday at 2pm: Join us as David Bliss takes us back through the generations, sharing the remarkable history of his family’s dairy, once one of the largest dairy production facilities in the area. From delivering fresh milk to doorsteps across the city to crafting the ice cream that generations of families still remember, Bliss Dairy’s story is woven into the fabric of our local landscape.

David will explore how Bliss Dairy was shaped by and influenced the evolution of agriculture in our city. Whether you grew up stopping at a Bliss Dairy ice cream stand or are discovering this piece of history for the first time, this is a talk you won’t want to miss.

Light refreshments will be provided.

We’re in the final stretch.

Thanks to incredible community support, the Attleboro Area Industrial Museum has raised more than $75,000 toward our $100,000 50th Anniversary Fund goal.

Now we’re asking for one final push before the April 30 deadline.

These funds help ensure the long-term sustainability of the museum, supporting collections care, exhibitions, and community engagement for years to come.

Every contribution helps move us closer.

Our goal is to raise $100,000 to support the Museum’s continued growth. Your support at any level will help fund new and existing programs.
