The Flower Hill Foundation is an 1877 historic site dedicated to telling the story of all Austinites.

Flower Hill is an urban historic homestead museum in the heart of old west Austin. The Flower Hill Foundation exists to honor the late Jane Smoot’s vision to celebrate an Austin founding family legacy; preserve one of the city’s last historic homesteads; and empower, inspire, and engage the diverse Austin community of today and tomorrow.

We have a handful of tickets left to Friday Night’s VIP murder mystery before the film screening. Your ticket includes food, drink, and a whodunit that will take you around the Flower Hill home. You can play individually or in teams.

Then stay for our screening for Clue on the lawn.

Doors at 7:30 if you are just going for the movie. Bring your own blanket or camping chairs. Concession stand will be open. I can smell the popcorn already!!

On November 10, 1877, the Smoot family moved into their new home on West 6th Street. Nearly 149 years later, their home is still a welcoming place to gather!

On Tuesday, November 10, join us for A Toast to 149, a special housewarming happy hour at Flower Hill Center. We'll raise a glass to the home's history, enjoy drinks and light bites, and share a little about what's ahead.

More details to come. No ticket required, but RSVP's will help us with a head count. Join us in celebrating 149 years of the Smoot family home!

We are sad to share that our event this Sunday, The Pressler Pour, has been cancelled. We are bummed not to spend the afternoon with our friends and neighbors.

We hope you will join us on Friday the 23rd for our Movie on the lawn. We will be showing Clue with all three endings! 7:30 doors, 8pm Screening.

Join us Friday, October 23rd, for a night of mystery, mayhem, and cocktails at Flower Hill Center, with an outdoor screening of the gloriously chaotic CLUE on the lawn!

Bring a blanket, settle in under the stars, and get ready for suspects, secrets, and scandal.

VIP Experience ($55): Arrive at 6:30 PM for an exclusive pre-film cocktail hour
General Admission ($5): Doors open at 7:30 PM
Film starts at 8:00 PM

Clue-inspired costumes highly encouraged! Come as your favorite suspect, or invent a character of your own.

Happenings on the Hill in November at Flower Hill Center 🌹

Flower Hill is a featured host of the 2026 Austin Studio Tour!
Free · Two weekends in November
Nov 14–15 and Nov 21–22 · 11 AM – 5 PM daily

For four days, working studios, galleries, and creative spaces across the city open their doors. It's a chance to see how the work actually gets made, meet the artists, and buy directly from them. We'll be announcing which artist we're hosting soon. Keep an eye out.

Happenings on the Hill in October at Flower Hill Center 🌼 Two very different Sundays-and-Fridays ahead at Flower Hill!

The Pressler Pour · Sunday, October 18 · 1–5 PM
In the 1870s, the Pressler B**r Garden sat just across the street from this house. We're bringing it back for a second year — craft b**r from Austin's best breweries, food, live music, and local vendors throughout the gardens.

Movie Night: CLUE · Friday, October 23 · Film on the lawn
Costumes encouraged, cocktails available, and one very important question to answer by the end of the night. General admission $5, or come at 6:30 for the VIP pre-film cocktail hour at $55. Bring a blanket.

Austin Museum Day is back Sunday, September 20 · 10 AM – 3 PM · FREE

Wander the historic house and grounds at your own pace. Talk with the staff and docents who know the stories behind this place: the people, the moments, the small details that shaped it. Then head to the Carriage House, which becomes a hands-on creative studio for the day. All ages, come make something.

One of 30+ museums across greater Austin taking part in the 29th annual celebration of art, history, nature, and science.
