Flower Hill Center

Flower Hill Center The Flower Hill Foundation is an 1877 historic site dedicated to telling the story of all Austinites.

Flower Hill is an urban historic homestead museum in the heart of old west Austin. The Flower Hill Foundation exists to honor the late Jane Smoot’s vision to celebrate an Austin founding family legacy; preserve one of the city’s last historic homesteads; and empower, inspire, and engage the diverse Austin community of today and tomorrow.

What a night!

The Flower Hill Fête was everything we dreamed. A garden full of friends, neighbors, and the people who make this community what it is. None of this magic would have happened without our sponsors, who showed up for Flower Hill in the biggest way.

A heartfelt thank you to our sponsors:
- Mary E. Walker
- Empire Roofing Inc.
- Pilgrim Building
- Serendipity Fund
- Natalie George Productions

And to the in-kind partners who brought the night to life:
- Monarch Event Rentals
- Chez Zee American Bistro
- Bar Peached
- Total Wine & More
- Round Rock Express
- The Natural Gardener

You didn't just sponsor an event, you helped us grow something lasting. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you!

This past February, Bottle Alley Theatre Company hosted a poetry reading in our restored garage at Flower Hill Center. It was a lovely evening with a full room of attentive listeners. The kind of quiet that only poignant words can bring.

Gathering the community in this space is at the heart of what Flower Hill is and what it has always been. We're grateful to continue the tradition the Smoot family began here, and to share it with neighbors and friends.

The Garage transformed into a master class when Austin Classical Guitar's youth ensemble joined French guitarist Gaelle Solal for an unforgettable afternoon. We're always honored to support these young musicians and our dear friends at ACG.

We had such an incredible time at the 2026 Flower Hill Fête this past weekend! Thank you to everyone who showed up for FHC this weekend. This preservation of Austin history would not be possible without your support. Here's to many more fêtes and many more years of restoring this historic and iconic home into the community hub it once was (and is turning into again)!

Did you miss the fête? We're still taking donations at flowerhillcenter.org if you'd like to show your support.
