Dearest fans: Red Space has been closed for a year but I am asking in great earnest today for your monetary support. I never asked for a penny from any one who ever enjoyed any of the three years of programming at Red Space Gallery, because I was lucky enough to have Red Space purely as a passion project. Remember all the shows you came to? All the fun punch you guzzled? All the times you peered into my life and ate my homemade cream puffs? Please look fondly on those memories and give to Co-Lab Projects, to continue my vision for Austin: a diverse, experimental, and sharply curated art scene that celebrates new work from emerging, established, and outsider artists. Co-Lab is pushing hard to keep us all informed, social, and dazzled. Please give today, please give whatever you have to give. For Red Space's sacred memory and for me, your friend in art, Caitlin G. A review of our recently closed show XO by Aaron Meyers. Absolutely brilliant!

The apartment gallery is to the critic as the firefly is to the concerned biologist. Both a sign of a healthy ecosystem. Many of us lament the passing of an Austin original that will light up 49th street no more.

Aaron Meyers XO opens 11/23/2013 Red Space's Final Exhibition

XO presents a series of sculptures that index a neon sign, domestic objects, and the gallery space itself. The work explores underlying connections to create a chiasmus: two becomes one, as one becomes two.
