Hosted by Pat Mitchell of the Paley Center for Media, the 2012 theme for TEDxWomen is The Space Between -- how women are curious to explore what is in between extremes, to gain the big picture and find the areas where we need more understanding and perhaps compromise. Women know that this is where life happens -- the places in between.TEDxElliottBayWomen invites you to join in the global conversation, and to enjoy a day in the passion, spirit and energy that is TEDx. A HUGE thanks to Bainbridge Museum of Art

TEDxChange is an event created out of a partnership between the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the TEDx program. It is an initiative devoted to ideas worth spreading in the areas of global health and development. The TEDxChange team works with TEDx organizers around the world to help facilitate meaningful discussions on topics including vaccines, polio, malaria, HIV/AIDS, maternal and newborn child health and agricultural development. The TEDxChange initiative also includes a global signature event convened by Melinda Gates and broadcast across the TEDx community.

TEDxElliottBayChange is a simulcast event of TEDxChange on April 3 2013. TEDxElliottBayChange will be held in the conference room of OfficeXpats on Bainbridge Island. By bringing the content of a large conference to the comfort of a small venue, we are able to share both their ideas and our own in a conversant community setting. TEDxElliottBayChange is bringing together people who care about global health to watch TEDxChange 2013 and brainstorm solutions. Your invitation is a call to participate!

Themed Positive Disruption, TEDxChange 2013 speakers will challenge preconceived ideas, spark discussion, engage leaders and shed light on new perspectives.
Convened by Melinda French Gates.

"Disruption is usually unwelcome. It represents conflict, chaos, and potential danger. We discourage disruptive behavior in our homes and our societies, often favoring passivity and compliance. But disruption can be a positive – sometimes vital – catalyst for change. It can challenge old assumptions, ignite conversations, activate authorities and expose new possibilities. Disruption can shed a unique light on difficult issues, giving a fresh urgency and perspective to the challenges of our global community. To solve the most intractable challenges in health and development, we need positive disruption. It is the path to true progress." - Melinda French Gates.
