The American Can Development was pivotal for the redevelopment of the Canton area initiated and realized by Bill Struever. Even without knowing the full background, it is obvious that the development lost its luster.

It is justified to hold MCB accountable for their lofty Baltimore aspirations and compare them with actual performance on the ground.

It is a fact that MCB acquired the Can Development and then sold it again without returning it to its former shine as a hub of local businesses and enterprises. Certainly not an approach one wants to see repeated at HarborPlace.

October 27 informational event about HarborPlace and Question F on the ballot.

We are a coalition of Baltimore citizens. We are from all walks of life but we have one thing in common: our love for the City of Baltimore. We love its people, its neighborhoods, its history, its parks and its magnificent waterfront. We share the belief that citizen action is necessary when any rig...

Who believes that in three months this project would be any more real than it is now or has been last year? Colin Tarbert is right to ask aloud whether another extension can be justified.

The developer has been trying to get the $200 million project moving forward for four years.

Adam's firm ASG has not only designed some very attractive buildings but has become a desirable workplace and an architectural powerhouse. He expanded the practice from building design to campus plans, masterplans, urban design and urban repair.
While active around the country and abroad, he has always kept an eye on the well being of Baltimore. He is a professional of a high caliber. I am pretty confident that his voice will be heard for years to come.

The architect joined the firm in 1984 and helped it grow from eight employees to 190 today.

The Maryland Appeals Court (now Supreme Court) will decide whether the lower courts decision against ballot question F will stand.
The judge had agreed with petitioners that a) the issue at hand was not really appropriate City Charter material and b) that the question was worded in a misleading and confusing way.

If the Supreme Court confirms the Circuit Court judge's decision, MCB doesn't have the necessary "entitlement" to proceed. If they come to a different conclusion the referendum question will be voted on as currently scheduled and printed on the ballots and voters will decide if the entitlements should be provided.

With the election less than two months away, it’s expected the state Supreme Court will decide whether to take up the case and rule expeditiously.

The question surely is worded in a way that its hard to tell what this is about First it looks like it is about creating a park and only at the every end does it say, wait no, we will allow all this stuff in the park.
It should say this: Amend the City Charter to allow additional uses such as parking, offices and apartments on 4.5 acres of the Inner Harbor public park.

A legal challenge to the wording of a ballot question needed for the redevelopment of Harborplace will be heard by a judge next week.

Rodney Little, who retired 20 years ago, had been a reliable partner in protecting Baltimore’s Heritage from the State level.
There were many strategic moves on his side, especially when it came to the Westside that the Weinberg Foundation was ready to through under the bus.

Preservation is always under assault by short term thinkers, Little was not one of those.
