It was a well attended reception for photography Featured Artists, Tom Hutton, Matte Hanna and Earl Robicheaux.
“Doorways, Portals & Pathways,’’ the Members’ Show will also be exhibited during the month of June. We hope you’ll drop by and see all the beautiful artworks created by our local artists.

Earl Robicheaux, Matte Hanna and Tom Hutton are the Featured Artists for June. All three are talented photographers with their own unique style that is easy to recognize.

Earl Robicheaux has been published in numerous magazines over the past 30 years, travels extensively and has amassed a stock inventory of about 500,000 photos. He initially concentrated on nature and wildlife but has broadened his endeavor to include travel and scenic images.

Matte Hanna has been interested in photography since he first picked up a camera in high school. He states, “While I am fascinated by technology and the digital age which allows me to explore and push new limits in photography, I still love the aesthetic feel of film and what it brings to the experience of taking a photo.” Matte has an art degree in Film and Motion Graphics.

Tom Hutton took up photography as a hobby about 40 years ago. He and his family moved to Bandon for him to take the position as pastor for a local church. He claims his greatest challenge is to capture the breathtaking beauty of this area. Recently, much of his photography has been covering sports since his grandchildren are runners.

The gallery is also featuring the Members New Show, “Doorways, Portals and Pathways”
The show will run from June 3rd to July 5th.

At the reception enjoy refreshments and meet Tom, Earl and Matte as well as several Gallery Members.

There’s always a wide variety of artwork in the gallery including ceramics, fused glass, photography, jewelry, art gourds, fiber apparel and much more all created by South Coast Artists.

Congratulations to Susanna Bemetz!
Susanna won the People’s Choice Award in the Community Show, “Spring Has Sprung.” As the winner, Susanna will be the Gallery’s Featured Artist for a month in 2027.

Art by the Sea gallery will be participating in Alive After Five on May 22 with light refreshments & wine. Come see their community show:” Spring has Sprung “. Vote for your favorite artist. The winner gets their own show.

And come see the work of their featured artists Laura Brownfield & Susan Tree. See their amazing, fused glass artwork.

A wine walk continues to be one of the highlights of Alive After Five. To participate in the wine walk, glasses and walking maps will be on sale for $10 at the glass picnic shelter on the Boardwalk. Wine glasses and maps will be available from 5 to 6:30.
