In CCAC’s Loft Gallery, we welcome a retrospective celebration of the life and artistic legacy of Karol Bowker Wyckoff — one of Cape Cod’s most accomplished and beloved artists.

This exhibition features a small selection from Karol’s extensive body of work, spanning more than seven decades of creativity. The collection begins with her first award-winning artwork, created at age 12 in 1948, and continues through works completed in 2025. Over a distinguished career, she earned more than 200 regional and national awards, exhibited throughout the United States.

Beyond her artistic achievements, Karol was a dedicated teacher, mentor, philanthropist, and champion of arts education. Through her artwork, generosity, and unwavering belief in the power of creativity, she inspired generations of artists and enriched the CCAC community she loved so deeply.

More than an exhibition of artwork, this collection honors a lifetime devoted to creativity, community, and the enduring belief that art has the power to inspire, connect, and enrich us all. 🩵

Documenting Change opened to a full house— bringing together art, community, and meaningful conversation.

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us. The energy in the galleries was everything!

We’re so grateful to our amazing volunteers, the CCAC Camera Club, our juried artists, our Artist in Residence, and our sponsors for making it all happen.

A special thank you to Dr. Caroline Ummenhofer and Dr. Svenja Ryan of WHOI for joining us and contributing their insight.

And congratulations to our “Best of Show” winner, Joan Appel.

Missed it? The exhibit is still on view featuring our talented members + Rebecca McGee Tuck in the Loft Gallery

Behind the scenes with 𝐒𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐡 𝐀𝐥-𝐀𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐢, our Director of Business Operations!

Sarah brings a dynamic background to her role at the Cape Cod Art Center, where she oversees daily operations, organizational strategy, and internal and external initiatives. She holds a degree from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and her experience with operations, marketing, large-scale event coordination, and digital developments allows her to manage everything from finances to outreach. With a natural eye for design and a passion for creating meaningful experiences, Sarah is driven by both structure and creativity— bringing thoughtful detail and fresh perspective to her work.

Sarah’s goal is to keep the Center thriving and connected, honoring its history while advancing its mission.

Born and raised in Barnstable, Sarah’s connection to the Center comes full circle— having first taken classes at CCAC as a child. After several years living and working in Boston, she returned to the Cape and reconnected with painting, an experience that reignited her creative path and ultimately led her back to the Center in a new capacity. She is passionate about keeping community at the heart of her work at the center, contributing to a space that has long been part of her own story.
