Thank you to all who came out for our 2026 Annual Meeting and program with author Fred Hill. It was bittersweet to see Nathan Lipfert hand over the "keys" to the presidency to Malcolm Person, but we are grateful, after so many years of service, to have Nathan stay on as a member and volunteer. Fred's talk was excellent - so many stories unearthed about the extraordinary people from Bath history.

Welcome to new officers and new board members! While Malcolm takes on the role of president, Rebecca Roche will serve as vice president, Jack Martin as secretary and Emma Beauregard as treasurer. Thank you to Hector Casas as well for your service as Treasurer!

Welcome new board members Emma Beauregard, Barbara Bramer, Jerome Casey, Fred Hill, and Tim Richter joining Meg Barker, Jack Martin, Joe Minott, Malcolm Persen, Rebecca Roche. Looking forward to an exciting year ahead!

It was 250 years ago YESTERDAY that the revolution came to the King’s Dock in what is now Bath, Maine. It was just 3 days ago that BHS members and the public were treated to a program on the topic from our board president, Nathan Lipfert. This program was dedicated to Dick Redlon whose passion for and commitment to Bath history buoyed many of us including Bath Historical Society. There are at least 3 sites in Bath connected to this event and always more history to uncover. The site of King’s Dock on the Kennebec at Washington and Harward Streets; the former tavern where mast agent Edward Parry was held; and the grave of Dummer Sewall, the patriot who confronted Parry 250 years ago and told him some version of “stop loading that timber-or else!” More commerorations to come in these 250th year/s. Thank you to the 3 NEW members who joined the Society this weekend. How about you? We have a little incentive - new members joining this spring/summer at the $50 and above level will receive a free walking tour ticket from Embark Maine Tours - so more Bath history too!
