ASK YOUR QUESTIONS!

We get a lot of questions and research requests sent to us via email, Facebook messenger, and via our website. A lot of those are people that live elsewhere trying to learn more about their Pierce County ancestors and family. Some are planning trips back to Pierce County to do more research. We love helping people on these quests! So, I thought I would offer this post as a way for people wanting to learn more about their family or to connect with distant relatives, just comment below with your query/quest details. A lot of our followers have done extensive research on their families or know someone who has, so let's try this as an experiment!

I know there are a lot of people out there curious about their Pierce County roots, I'm hoping they will use this opportunity to comment below. If you are brave enough to comment below and don't already receive our quarterly member newsletter, we will send you a digital copy.

TODAY: Open House event at our History Center in Bay City.

If you have a local history related event in Pierce County please let us know by mid-month the month prior to be included in this monthly post, it is also posted at our offices.

If you wish your local history event to be included in our quarterly newsletter's calendar of events, please send information to us 2-4 weeks prior to the next issue (March 1st, June 1st, September 1st, and the next one December 1st. We ask that you are either a PCHA member or a nonprofit organization.

Today is the last day of the Dam Days display until 2028. We've sure enjoyed all the great interactions so far! Thank you to those that came to visit, those that gave us such great feedback, and those telling others about the display. We appreciate it all! We are loving all the questions, especially the ones from our young visitors. I've been so engaged, I've barely taken any pictures. I'll try to get more today!

Stop in for your free local postcards! We have four of them, two new this year. We'll be open by 9am and will stay open after the parade.

We are ready for Dam Days! We are excited to share that our display is ready and open! Come visit today, open until at least 6pm (will likely stay open later). Open Saturday and Sunday 10-6 as well.

This Friday, Saturday, and Sunday join us at the Spring Valley Community Center for a local history display during the town's Dam Days festival. The 1942 Flood display will return and new photo display of dam construction added.

A very special collection of newly donated photos of early Spring Valley by photographer, John Krueth on display as well. Here's a look at that display set up in the front area of the Community Center.
