🚒 Exciting progress is underway at historic Station No. 3 in Bay City! 🚒
The Antique Toy and Firehouse Museum is thrilled to share the latest construction updates as we continue restoring this remarkable old firehouse. Since our last update, crews have focused on cleaning and restoring the hose tower while addressing several unexpected conditions that needed attention now to keep the project moving forward.
Recent work includes structural masonry repairs, interior cleaning and power washing, a new roof structure set by crane, a new third-floor window and tower vents, roof insulation, a new steel stairway, third-floor flooring repairs, soffit and fascia repairs, an upgraded 400-amp electrical service, and improvements to the building’s water service.
Next up: crews will install liner panels and trim beneath the roof rafters, continue third-floor lighting and electrical work, and create temporary access to the new stairway and third floor.
We extend a heartfelt thank you to Serenus Johnson Construction for their hard work, craftsmanship, and dedication to bringing Station No. 3 back to life!
There is still plenty of work ahead, but every step brings us closer to welcoming the community inside. Station No. 3 is scheduled to open to the public at the end of 2027. We can’t wait to share this special piece of Bay City history with you!
