After 25 years of running a garden shop, I've converted Alden Farms to a sculpture garden and gallery to showcase my work as well as others. The sculpture garden is open to the public at any time (you will be welcomed by friendly and loving dogs). We are also open during the Countryside Artisans Gallery and Studio Tour, which are held each April, October, and December. THE RENOWNED URBAN NATION HIP-HOP CHOIR - Live in Concert! September 28th, 3-4:00pm at the Riverworks outdoor stage- 17617 W. Willard Rd. in Poolesville ***Rain date: Saturday, October 5th 3:00 - 4:30 PM***

The choir has shared the stage with such notable superstars as, the late Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Opera Diva Denyce Graves, John Legend and many more. The Renowned Urban Nation H.I.P-H.O.P. Choir, is the brainchild of Dr. Shiela Johnson Newman, formerly Co-Founder of Black Entertainment Television (BET), and Grammy Voting Member, Dr. Rickey Payton, Sr., who is the President, CEO & Artistic Director of Urban Nation, a 501(c)3 youth organization based in The District Of Columbia. Focusing on the acronym HIP-HOP, which stands for (HOPE, INTEGRITY, POWER, HELPING OUR PEOPLE), Urban Nation brings together a group of young motivated youth, to promote peace, justice, violence prevention and cross cultural understanding through the arts.

I believe that though the arts we can create community. Safe haven’s where we can enjoy each other’s uniqueness and celebrate what the moment might bring. Art is not a painting to look at. Art is what happens in the space between . It is in the emotion that is made by human interaction, saying hello just hello creates art.
