The Fire Museum of Texas

The Fire Museum of Texas Apparatus, equipment, uniforms and photographs trace the evolution of how we fight fires from horse-drawn vehicles to today's modern engine.

The Fire Museum of Texas first opened in 1984 and has been endorsed by the State Firemen's & Fire Marshals' Association of Texas since 1986 as the official fire museum for the State of Texas. Housed in the historic 1927 Central Fire Station for the Beaumont Fire Department, the Fire Museum of Texas exhibits an extensive collection related to the history of fire departments in the state of Texas.

Objects on exhibit date back to the mid-1800s. Hands on areas include a dress up area with bunker gear, the cab to a modern engine and a Fire Safety House.

This National EMS Week, we recognize the everyday heroes who answer the call when our community needs them most.

Like a signal shining across the skyline, the Star of Life represents hope, courage, compassion, and lifesaving care. Our EMS professionals work day and night to protect and serve — often behind the scenes, but always ready to respond.

Thank you to all EMS personnel for your dedication, sacrifice, and commitment to saving lives. Beaumont is stronger because of you. 🚑💙

Today, we honor the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of firefighters everywhere on International Firefighters Day.

From responding to emergencies at all hours to protecting lives, property, and our community, firefighters exemplify bravery and service in its truest form. We also take time to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty—their legacy will never be forgotten.

Here at the Fire Museum of Texas, we are proud to share the stories and history of the fire service and to honor the heroes who serve past and present. ❤️🚒

Please join us in thanking a firefighter today for all they do to keep our communities safe.

Join us in honoring our nation’s fallen heroes during Light the Night for Fallen Firefighters, observed April 26 through May 3.

During this week, landmarks, fire departments, homes, and businesses across the country will glow red in remembrance of the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

Here at the Fire Museum of Texas, we are proud to honor their legacy every day. Our dedication section of memorial bricks around the base of our giant hydrant stands as a lasting tribute to those we’ve lost, alongside our 9/11 Memorial honoring the fallen heroes of September 11.

We invite our community to participate:
🔴 Change your porch light to red
🔴 Share photos and messages of support
🔴 Visit and reflect on the memorials that keep their stories alive

Together, we shine a light that ensures their sacrifice is never forgotten.

As dusk turns to dark, landmarks, homes, fire service organizations, and businesses across the country will again glow in respect from April 26 - May 3, 2026...

Moments like this remind us why we do what we do. We’re proud to create a one-of-a-kind experience that not only engages our guests, but also honors the rich history and legacy of the fire service.

Inspiring the next generation means everything to us. ❤️🔥

This week, we proudly celebrate National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week — a time to recognize the calm voices behind the scenes who make a life-saving difference every single day.

Our dispatchers are the first first responders. They are the steady presence in moments of chaos, providing critical information, reassurance, and coordination when it matters most. Their professionalism, compassion, and quick thinking help ensure that help is always on the way.

To our telecommunicators: thank you for your dedication, your resilience, and your unwavering commitment to serving our community. Your work often goes unseen, but it never goes unappreciated.

We are grateful for you today and every day.
