A tiny spring between the pages 🌿🐸✨

Joris Hoefnagel, a Flemish artist of the late 16th Century, delighted in illustrating manuscripts with natural history subjects. The flora and fauna in this bookmark come from Mira Calligraphies Monumenta (the Model Book of Calligraphy). With his illustrations, Hoefnagel aimed to demonstrate the superior affective power of images over the written word.
