Lawrence County Museum of History and Edward L. Hutton Research Library The museum and research library offer exhibits and information focused on the history of Lawrence County, Indiana. The Edward L. Admission is free.

The Lawrence County Museum of History is home to many interesting artifacts that showcase the history and heritage of Lawrence County. Many of these are on display in the 2400 square foot gallery. Hutton Research Library houses countless Lawrence County history and genealogy books and folders with information dating back as far as 1818. Professor Benjamin Irvin of the IU Department of History will speak on "Disabled Veterans of the American Revolution" on Monday, June 8 at 7 p.m. in the Lawrence County Museum. The speaker program follows the LCHGS monthly meeting, which is at 6:30, and both the meeting and the program are free and open to the public. Professor Irvin's presentation is a Lawrence County America 250 event, and we hope to see you there!

Congratulations to our new Brain Games champions, Raptors Rise Rehabilitation Center! Here’s how they got there: In the second round, the City of Bedford team defeated Rodney Fish & Family “Mitchell Teachers”, 130-40; then Raptors Rise clawed McCoin Roofing, 140-40. Bedford Federal Savings Bank eliminated the Bedford Rotary Club, 180-130, and the Bedford Hiking Club walked over the Amy Nikirk, FNP, IU Health team, 120-30.

In the semifinal round, Raptors Rise Rehabilitation won over the City of Bedford, 110-60, and Bed Fed stopped the Bedford Hiking Club, 80-50.

Raptors Rise Rehabilitation handily defeated Bed Fed in the final round, 130-60.

In Round 1 of Brain Games play last night, Rodney Fish and Family prevailed over Bedford Altrusa, 190-70; the City of Bedford defeated Ferguson-Lee Chapel, 130-70; McCoin Roofing bested Pynco 2, 190-110, and Raptors Rise Rehabilitation won their game against Judge Nikirk, Lawrence Circuit Court, 200-100. After the break, the Bedford Rotary Club squeaked by Day & Carter Mortuary, 120-110; Bedford Federal Savings Bank put Hawkins & Root Real Estate out of the competition, 140-90; Amy Nikirk, FNP, IU Health overcame Lawrence County Community Foundation, 180-70; and the Bedford Hiking Club slid by Pynco 1, 130-120.

Play resumes tonight at 6 p.m. at the StoneGate Arts and Education Center, 931 15th Street in Bedford. Admission is free; come support your favorite teams!
