Our mission is to engage the community by providing all-ages spaces for art and music in Whatcom and Skagit Counties. Make.Shift started in 2008 with the modest goal of being a support network for local bands. Now we run an all-ages art gallery and music venue, affordable art studios and band practice spaces, and a low-power community radio station, KZAX 94.9 FM.

Cat Positive opens the night and we are really excited to play with Sprig again. The last time we shared a bill was at Central Saloon in 2021. The room was packed with goths, qu**rs and baseball bros peacefully coexisting together. One of my favorite shows ever. Sprig absolutely killed it and we’ve wanted to do it again ever since.

At the request of the performers, we ask that attendees please wear a mask at this event. If you’ve been wanting to participate in a masked-up show, this is a great opportunity. Thanks for helping make live music more accessible and for supporting our immunocompromised community ❤️

Fiona Ferguson is a recent WWU Art Education graduate and currently substitute teaches along with teaching workshops. She loves a wide variety of media, including, but not limited to watercolor, oil painting, screen printing, ceramics, papier mâché, knitting, natural dying, and, of course, observational drawing. She is very drawn to color, organic shapes, domestic spaces, botanical imagery, and light. Outside of art and teaching, she loves to swim in the ocean, dance, and lay on her lawn listening to music.

If you missed New Band Night last month you really should be jealous of those that were there. . . .

In our continued effort to support up-and-coming artists, Make.Shift launched New Band Night in November of 2025.

A month ago today, on March 28th 2026, we hosted our second ever New Band Night! We were honored to feature the new bands Dead Royals, Soft Serve, Muller, Liaison, and Nicholas-McRae. We hope you will all continue to support these bands as they go conquer the rest of the scene!

As time marches on, we plan to have New Band Night 3.0. We can not yet tell you precisely when . . . so keep an eye on our website and socials to see when applications open next!
