From Docent Lonnie Lisai-"Adam's Grist Mill; this is a photo of the MAIN elevator/conveyor. This is at level 7, the cupola. The Grist Mill did a major overhaul in 1908, then again in 1927 to change from Water Power to Electric. This elevator begins in the basement level then up 6 stories. A lot in this photo; note the original bridge pole, the gears that not only powered the elevator but the auger AND four other elevators. Two of the smaller elevators can be seen. Reminder that the Adam's Grist Mill will be open this weekend from 11:00 to 3:00. Docents can show the first 3 floors of the Main elevator. Should also mention, the main elevator has 12 chutes that can dump the grain into 12 bins. A giant octopus! See this amazing building! "
