Loving this new piece by L.B. Brush, entitled Remembering Paris.

There’s something so inviting about this scene, from the soft light and weathered architecture to the small figure tucked into the passageway. It feels like a memory of Paris captured in paint, intimate, atmospheric, and full of charm.

Beautiful new work by Jeff & Heather Thompson, on view now at Layor Gallery!

Their blown and sculpted glass sculptures bring an incredible sense of movement and life to the gallery. From shimmering trout to graceful whales, each piece is brought to life through rich color, intricate detail, and the luminous quality of glass.

These pieces are even more striking in person as the light moves across the glass and reveals all of the subtle variations within.

“Still Standing”
Painting by Mollie Jurgenson

History
From Mollie Jurgenson:

“Civil War veteran Marvin Sylvester Wood built this historic American Gothic Revival-style farmhouse after coming west from Michigan around Cape Horn in 1869. It represents the type of homes built by homesteaders from the 1870’s through the early 20th century.

Located on the eastern side of Crater Lake Highway, or Hwy. 62, just north of Eagle Point, OR, it has since been restored and is now under the protection of Eagle Point Historical Society.

I took reference photos in 1999 before the restoration.”

“Still Standing” is currently on view at Layor Gallery as part of our August exhibition, Explorations.

Visit the gallery this month to experience Mollie Jurgenson’s work in person.
