Kirby Lewis, I am native of Berkeley County, West Virginia and have been an artist since i was five years old. My wife and I recently moved to her childhood home near Berkeley Springs, WV. We’ve completed a complete re-construction renovation. It was a project that we incorporated many artistic details, it comfortably suits our tastes and hopefully is warm and inviting to our guests. ften share is about my first show. It was located on the side porch of my parents’ home in Hedgesville. It was a complete “sell-out” thanks to my loyal art patrons, who
consisted of my Grandmother and her neighbor friend buying all of my cartooned works! I studied art at Shepherd University in the early 70s & 80s and experienced the world first-hand through a stint in the military (U.S. It was this opportunity that afforded me a glimpse into our world from outside of my homeland. And definitely impacted my art. Although I has been a professional sign-painter, graphic artist, muralist and designer; it is only within the past 25 years that I have officially accepted my role as a canvas artist. I work in several genres which are evident by my past works. Many of these can be found locally, while even more hang in several businesses & homes around country. his works can also be found elsewhere around the country. My canvas pieces range in size and price (starting at $900). While I have done plenty of commission works in the past, I now concentrate on areas that brings me joy. Two New Jersey residents pleaded guilty to running a years-long counterfeit art scheme that funneled fake works into the legitimate market, defrauding buyers of at least $2 million.

Erwin Bankowski, 50, and Karolina Bankowska, 26, admitted in federal court in Brooklyn to wire fraud conspiracy and misrepresenting Native American–produced goods, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York. The pair, a father and daughter, now face up to 20 years in prison, along with at least $1.9 million in restitution.

Some older works. My elephant I drew while in the hospital awaiting open-heart surgery. The original is only 9” tall, and every time I look at the prints of it, I’m amazed at how well the printer was able to capture so much detail. It’s one of my favorite pencil drawings. It’s all done with just a No. 2, nothing else, but paper, lead and time.
