It was a very big year for us at The Potters’ Studio as we navigated saying goodbye to our 8th St studio and moved into our new permanent home. Since we had our opening party in September, we’ve built a new soda kiln with , introduced a wider variety of classes, and hosted visiting artists such as Justin Paik Reese and Natalia Arbelaez !

We finished out the year with the return of our annual Holiday Sale and had a wonderful time connecting with new neighbors and long-time community members.

As we close out 2025, we would like to thank everyone who has been a part of our studio this year. From volunteers to staff, board members, friends, and studio members, we couldn’t have done this without you!

From all of us at The Potters’ Studio, we wish you a Happy New Year and can’t wait to see you in 2026. ❤️

Interested in Soda Firing and want a chance to fire in our new kiln?

Our teacher Ian Bassett is offering a new class: "Wheel Throwing for Soda Firing & Other Atmospheres" 🔥

Fridays 10 am - 1 pm at The Potters' Studio
Jan. 9 - March. 27

This class will focus on creating work for atmospheric firing, specifically soda. Students will learn to visualize and utilize atmospheric effects on clay, glaze, and slips. Ian will discuss and demo a variety of throwing, glazing, and decorating techniques tailored to atmospheric firings. This class will also address loading and wadding strategies as they differ from a cone 10 reduction firing. This class culminates in a soda firing in our newly built kiln.

❄ We'd like to extend a big THANK YOU to everyone who made our 2025 Holiday Sale happen!

We couldn't have done it without the hard work of our staff, volunteers, and exhibiting artists. The weekend turned out beautifully with an abundance of visitors, food, ceramics, and community.

Our first street market with .taproom and was so much fun and a great welcome to our new home on 4th st. Thank you to everyone who came by and supported us this year. ❄

Now for some rest...

We’re hosting another raffle this year at our Holiday Sale! Each December, potters from TPS donate one of their best pieces to help raise money for the Maija Williams Scholarship.

🌟 This fund helps provide free classes and membership to BIPOC and/or LGBTQIA+ clay artists. Since we launched this scholarship a few years ago, we’ve been able to cover full-tuition for over 100 students! 🌟

By bidding on a piece during the Holiday Sale, your donations go directly towards funding the scholarship for the next year. And, you get the chance to win an amazing, hand-made ceramic art piece for the price you chose!

Thanks for helping us make our studio accessible so everyone can experience the magic of community clay.

Come by our sale any time Dec. 12-14 to participate. The big raffle drawing takes place Sunday before 4 pm!
