Founded in 2012, The Kelsey Projects is the only pop up museum in Berkeley devoted exclusively to contemporary art. It is committed to collection presentation and interpretation of work produced since 1940 in all media, and to introduce and share its work for future generations. The Kelsey Projects engages artist and audiences through an ambiguous program of exhibitions, collection, education, and publication. The Kelsey Projects identifies and supports some of the most significant art of its time, often unavailable in surrounding institutions. The Kelsey Projects provides a platform by actively fostering and presenting new work, emerging media and original scholarship primarily focusing on northern California artist.
